This Community Centre was officially opened in 1979, towards the end of the major housing development in Huntingdon as a result of the London Overspill Policy of the 1960s. The original building has been enlarged on a number of occasions and now comprises lounge, main hall, stage, offices, bar, two other meeting rooms and another, recently built smaller hall. The Medway Centre is licensed to operate 7 days
a week from 8.00am to midnight. The Centre is booked most days
by regular groups however, there is availability remaining on most
days for the hall, smaller lounge room and meeting room. The
main availability for the hall is on Mondays after 8.15pm; Tuesdays
between 8.00am and 4.00pm; Fridays between 11.30am and 7.00pm and
after 9.00pm; Saturdays before 5.00pm; most second and fifth
Saturdays of the month all day and Sundays after 7.00pm. The
lounge room has availability most weekdays during the morning and
most evenings. During non term time, the availability of all
rooms increases so please do phone the centre and check.
For any new groups wishing to hire the Centre
on a regular basis, a promotion is currently available so please do
phone for details.

Hall
This large hall can accommodate up to 180
people for a seated audience. The hall is ideal for
parties, conferences, large training events, wedding receptions,
open days and many other functions. Due to the lovely
wooden floor, the hall is also perfect for dance classes and any
other types of exercise classes. Activities typically in
the hall range from bingo and dance to boxing and martial arts.
The hall also has a separate stage area which is used mainly for
music equipment at social functions or an area used by dance
instructors or speakers at events.

Coffee Bar
The coffee bar is
usually hired with the hall as it acts as a nice break-out area
for events. It is fully stocked with tea/coffee making
facilities and has nice comfy chairs and tables. This area
can be hired separately or at a discounted rate if booked with
the hall.

Lounge
The lounge room can accommodate up to 80
people for a seated audience. this room is ideal for craft
activities and children's activities due to the nature of the
flooring. This room is nice and private and benefits
further from its own facilities include a disabled toilet.
The room also has its own coffee bar area where tea/coffee can
be made and served from. Activities typically in the
lounge room range from children's activities and craft making
session to private training classes and music groups. |

The Medway Centre
benefits further from having a fully stocked kitchen (including
fridge, freezer, double oven and microwave); a small meeting
room that can accommodate up to 5 people, 2 large car parks that
are free to use for hirers and users of the Centre and very good
disabled access.
