The Commemoration Hall, High Street, Huntingdon

The Commemoration Hall was built in 1842 by Robert Fox a local benefactor from Godmanchester and was opened as the Scientific and Literary Institute.  It was operated by a small body of Trustees until a major refurbishment in 1960 resulted in its being handed over to the Town Council for its long term maintenance and operation.  

The Commemoration Hall comprises a large main hall (approximately 27ft x 67ft, a foyer (approximately 30ft x 18ft), the Minerva Room (upstairs) (approximately 30ft x 15ft), a substantial stage together with associated dressing rooms, kitchen and disabled toilet facilities.  This Hall is available for hire seven days a week for either commercial or non-commercial events. The Commemoration Hall underwent extensive refurbishment works at the beginning of 2001 following which the Council introduced a no smoking policy.   To see the up to date hire charges for the Hall click here.

The Town Hall (top floor Civic Suite), Market Hill, Huntingdon

This impressive building, facing onto the Market Hill, was built in 1745.  It includes two Courts of Justice, an Assembly Room, Council Chamber and Mayor's Parlour. 

The Town Council retains the use of the Civic Suite on the top floor (Assembly Room, Council Chamber and Mayor's Parlour).  The Civic Suite is available for hire for certain selected functions (Mondays to Saturdays).  To see the up to date hire charges for the Hall click here.

The Medway Centre, Medway Road, Huntingdon

This Community Centre was officially opened in 1979,  towards the end of the major housing development in Huntingdon as a result of the London Overspill Policy of the 1960s.  The original building has been enlarged on a number of occasions and now comprises lounge, main hall, stage, offices, bar, two other meeting rooms and another, recently built smaller hall. To see the up to date hire charges for the Hall click here.  


The Medway Centre is occupied most days of the weekby local Community Groups and is available for hire Mondays to Sundays.  The Centre is especially popular for parties, anniversaries, wedding receptions etc..
